RUN
TRAINING |

Thursday Interval Session
Anyone can go jogging, Thursdays are for raising the tempo. Sessions are based around Primrose Hill & (in the summer) Regents Park, and last about 30 minutes plus warm up & down. We meet at The Hub inside Regents Park there are cycle racks, lockers and changing rooms. We assume that every week runners cover 20M or more, including one steady run of at least one hour, if you do not do this you can still take part, but you need to build up your milage gradually. We cater for all abilities, currently we have a range of 33-58 min 10K.
Training is aimed at the 10K runner/triathlete and most sessions are based around 5K race pace, although there is considerable variety provided. There is no charge, contact via the club bulletin board or egroup forenquiries.
Please see the Bulletin board for details of the sessions Here:

Drills on hold till autumn
The date of the next series of six sessions at Finsbury Park track is TBA. As well as
drills we will also be doing some strength and conditioning
work. People wishing to attend please contact
the bulletin board
or e-group.
What
we are aiming for is to run faster with less effort &
to be less prone to injury. Drills are aimed at teaching an
efficient running style and at strengthening athletes in the
appropriate places so that they can overcome poor technique.
Sessions last one hour and cost £5.00 on the day, or
£19.00 for a series of six.
Most middle distance and road runners miss out on drills,
yet all the top marathon runners do them; we believe there
is a lot of benefit to be gained. Coaching is by Nina Anderson
(www.ninaanderson.com).
Please enquire via the club bulletin board or e-group.
How to to get to Finsbury Park:
for map reference
- By
bike/on foot: are you people not triathletes? There
is a fence inside the track where you can tether your steed.
Given that we'll all be milling around I'd expect this to
be quite safe, but leave the catwalk bike at home ok?There
is a room where we can lock up a LIMITED NUMBER of bikes.
- By
car, you need to head for the junction of Endymion Road
and Upper Tollington Park, where there is the entrance to
FP just in the corner. (NB in the winter at night this is
the only way in/out on foot) There is parking and meters,
although they have been resurfacing the road for the last
two months. Be careful they do come round and clamp people.
- By
Tube Manor House or Finsbury Park (a short walk from
either)
- By
bus - personally i'd discourage this but then I've got
issues. 253 is likely the best route, there are some that
just go round in circles for an hour of two.
